Jorge Eckardt
I’m a graduate of the University of Connecticut with degrees in journalism and communications.
Currently, I’m working as a copy editor for the Hearst Connecticut Media Group.
I have worked as a freelance beat reporter for The Rockaway Wave, a newspaper based in Queens, New York, covering the Brooklyn Cyclones for the past four seasons.
I also write for Metsmerized Online, contributing to the site’s coverage of the New York Mets.
At UConn, I spent four years writing for the student newspaper, The Daily Campus. While there I worked as a beat reporter and columnist, covering a wide range of sports including men’s and women’s basketball, football, men’s and women’s hockey and more. I was also involved in the production of the newspaper, working as both a copy editor and designer multiple nights a week.
I’ve had bylines over the past four years at a few other websites, including Rising Apple, Amazin’ Avenue, 12up and SkullKing Sports. For those sites, I wrote about a wide range of topics, primarily focusing on professional sports, including the New York Mets and the New York Jets.
